New African Status

New Horizons for African Beer

A new, aspirational generation of Africans are thirsty for modern beers that challenge the status quo.

We mapped emerging cultural codes of 'status' across the region, transforming these into visual territories, and going on to develop the design codes and brand positioning for a unique new range of beers that could express the vibrancy and dynamism of African youth culture.

Later, we ran liquid tasting in bars and shebeens in Lagos, Accra and Nairobi, as well as scoping concepts for an urban taproom to serve as a nightlife destination and brand showcase for the new range.

Our client’s team designs and creates the workplace for one of the strongest brands in the world. As the company’s own story-tellers, they bring to life its history and values in everyday working culture.

When Covid transformed the workplace, we collaborated with their leaders to reframe a new purpose and mission for their own brand.

Immersing in workplace trends, listening to hopes and fears of the players on the pitch, we created a new Brand Platform and Manifesto for their team, that gave poetry to their purpose, celebrated their role as story-tellers, and equipped them to embrace future scenarios and challenges with confidence together.
